Morton House and The Stable Block buildings were built in the 17th Century and the 19th Century and then carefully converted into a beautiful living space, keeping its charm and features. Morton House has exposed beams, open fireplace, fantastic loft master suite and a farmhouse style kitchen diner, great for gatherings.

The properties share a fully fenced garden area which is private and links to The Stable Block, which has been fully equipped with kitchen, dining area and reception area with central heating to ensure that you are warm in the cooler months. Both properties have flat screen TVs with a full satellite package and laundry area.

It is ideal for large groups of family or friends to enjoy the beautiful Yorkshire countryside.

Booking both Morton House & The Stable block together is a brilliant solution for larger groups and families. When booked together the accommodation can sleep up to 16 (please not one of these beds is a roll out bed best suited for children).

Morton House circa 17th Century is a very old property that has been tastefully renovated so it still retains much of the charm and features, including exposed beams, open fireplace, fantastic loft master suite and a farmhouse style kitchen diner. The rear shared garden is fully fenced and private and links to The Stable Block which is is an 19th century building that has been carefully converted into a lovely 3-bedroom cottage with the added benefit of a downstairs bedroom. Both properties have fully equipped kitchens, dining areas, and reception areas, as well as being centrally heated to ensure guests are warm and cosy in the cooler months. They also both have flat screen TVs with full satellite packages and a shared Laundry, utility area.

The properties are both perfectly located together just off the main market square and are within very easy walking distance to all Masham’s facilities.

There is plenty of parking at the front of Morton House on Park Street and further off-street parking can be provided if required on request.

The shared rear garden which links to Morton House and The Stable Block is perfect for larger group bookings. The garden is fully fenced, enclosed and private and very well positioned for catching the sun whilst barbecuing and relaxing.

Morton House is a grade II listed stone farmhouse just off the market square in the picturesque market town of Masham. The accommodation is within easy walking distance of all amenities, pubs, shops and of course Masham’s famous breweries – The Black Sheep and Theakstons. Morton House can be rented on its own or in conjunction with The Stable Block therefore able to sleep up to 16 persons in 7 bedrooms.

The town of Masham is superbly placed for walking and visiting local attractions. A market has been held here since 1393 when a charter was granted by Richard II and the town subsequently thrived due to the easy access of the flocks from nearby Fountains and Jervaulx Abbeys. It still hosts a market every Wednesday and Saturday, and there are plenty of welcoming pubs and delightful tearooms.

Morton House has been totally renovated retaining much of the charm and features you would expect including exposed beams, open fireplace, fantastic loft master suite and farmhouse style kitchen/diner. The rear (shared) garden is fully fenced, private and sunny (when the sun shines!) There is parking at the door on the street. The house is centrally heated throughout and available all year.

Just a minor thing – but as we are travelling around the UK we are trying to pack light so don’t carry things such as body wash for the shower. We assumed accommodation would provide this. Also there was a washing machine but no laundry detergent. It would have been convenient if this had been supplied – even at a cost. But as I said minor things.   We had the whole house to ourselves. Loved the wood fire. Old world kitchen was lovely. Fully appointed with everything you could need.

The shower rooms were a little small. The sink was low for anyone with a bad back. (got me out of the washing up though!)  We really liked the underfloor heating. The beds and stay were very cosy and comfortable but with enough space to feel right at home. Great location for discovering Masham (could walk right into town or by the river and the surrounding area!)
